Greenville ISD officials have been in touch with the Texas Attorney General’s office regarding the forensic audit that was conducted this spring. AG officials have decided to open an investigation as a result of some of the information contained in the audit, and they have informed district officials that it could take six months to a year to complete their work.
In the meantime, the district has received several public information requests for the audit report. GISD legal counsel has sent the report, along with recommended redactions to the AG’s Open Records Division for their opinion. The district has not received a redacted version of the audit, and the AG officials indicated that they will not be returning the audit in any form until the conclusion of the investigation.
GISD officials are working in full cooperation with the AG’s office and will share the audit with the public as soon as the AG has concluded the investigation and returned the report to the district.
