Michael Garrett with Trusted World surprised Carver Elementary with more than $21,000 in food, drinks, underwear, socks, school supplies, books, and backpacks to 80 Carver Elementary students.

Whitney Threatt, Social Worker with Communities In Schools & site coordinator for Carver said the project started as a hygiene drive organized by Danielle Carter and David Garrett, students from Texas A&M Commerce. When Michael Garrett, father of David Garrett, heard that the drive was not enough to give all 80 of the targeted students these items, he stepped in and gave more than anyone could have ever been imagined.

“We are overwhelmed with the generosity of Mr. Garrett and his company,” said Whitney Threatt.  “Our kids deserved this so much, and this will have such a huge impact on them.”

“GISD & Carver Elementary students and faculty thank Michael Garret and Trusted World for their generous donation,” said the school in a press release. “You have made the holiday much brighter for our kids.”
