Texas Rangers earliest opening day in history

The Texas Rangers kick off their 2019 season on March 28, 2019, setting a new historical record for the earliest opening day in Texas Ranger history. The Rangers take on the Chicago Cubs for a three-game series to start the season, and Globe Life Park is expected to be packed full of fans ready for the home opener.

Starting pitcher Michael Minor will throw the game at 3:05 p.m. as he looks to lead the Rangers to an opening day win. The Rangers are anticipating their young batters and new rotation will lead them into a winning season – hoping for better results than the 67 – 95 record they had last year.

If you are attending the game look for long-time Ranger player Elvis Andrus who will use “Baby Shark” as his new walk-up song, as well as Joey Gallo starting in left field.

“We are excited for what we have right now, and I think we are ready to prove some people wrong,” said Joey Gallo in his opening day interview.
