Stamp Out Hunger food drive is Saturday, May 11, 2019

On Saturday, postal workers across the county will be picking up donations of food for those in need. Sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers, the 27th annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive will begin early in the morning, when postal workers will collect non-perishable food donations from their mail routes.
“For over two decades, the Postal Service has joined the National Association of Letter Carriers and others to help Stamp Out Hunger in America,” said Postmaster General and CEO Megan J. Brennan. “As we come together to help feed America’s hungry, I encourage our customers across the country to support this vital one-day food drive. Working together, we will continue making a difference in the lives of millions of Americans in need.”
To participate, leave a bag filled with your donations by your mailbox early Saturday morning and the carrier will pick it up. Last year’s food drive resulted in over 71 million pounds of food collected by Postal Service carriers nationally, feeding an estimated 30 million people.
