The public is invited to attend “Shattered Dreams,” a mock-wreck event from the wreck to the trial, Tuesday-Thurday.
“Shattered Dreams” will simulate the consequences of driving while impaired. Students from Greenville High School and Greenville Christian School will be featured, while local first responders attend to them.
“Shattered Dreams” will begin Tuesday at 2 p.m. The public is welcome to observe the event in a designated viewing area. Those attending are asked to park at Westview United Methodist Church and walk over to the school from there.
Other events are a memorial service on Wednesday and a trial for the student driver at the Hunt County Court House on Thursday at 7 p.m. The public seating at the service and trial will be limited, with priority given to students and their families.
“Shattered Dreams” involves more than 300 volunteers and is of such a scope that it’s only conducted every four years, officials said.
