Minnie Ryser of Honey Grove, Texas


Minnie Sylvester Ryser 87, of Honey Grove, died at 5:29 a.m., Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at her daughter’s home surrounded by her family.  Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2018 at St. James Lutheran Church in Allens Chapel with Pastor John Walther officiating.  Burial will follow in the Vineyard Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.  Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Minnie was born July 3, 1931 in Direct to Joe R. and Artie Lee Tigretts Shannon.  She married Raymond Charles Ryser on October 20, 1973 in Allens Chapel.  He died on August 15, 2006.  For most of her adult life, she worked as a cook and waitress, but her most important role was that of homemaker.  She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her three children, Lee Ann Haley, Tina Andrews and husband, Shawn, and Charles Carter and wife, Michelle; fiftteen grandchildren, David, Wayne, Stephanie, Amanda, Jeremy, Travis, Tasha, Daniel, Brandon, Valarie, Ariel, James Roy, Clifford, Amber, and Lucus; twenty-six great-grandchildren; one brother, J.R. Shannon; and two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Shannon and Betty Ryser.  She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one daughter, Freda Tibergeihn; four brothers, J.W. Shannon, Bernice Shannon and wife, Judy, William Shannon and wife, Mary, and E.J. Shannon and wife, Ima; and two sisters-in-law, Sandra and Jean Shannon.


Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Wayne Haley, Brandon Childers, Cliff Lappin, Lucus Lappin, Tim White, and David Fagan.
