A Christmas tradition for many, the Ridgecrest Baptist Church will perform a live nativity scene Dec. 23, 2018, at the Hunt County Courthouse.

The scene, which includes live animals, will be performed at 6 p.m. outside the courthouse and is expected to last one hour, according to Denyse Lummus Bench.

Along with the performance, hot chocolate and cookies will be served. In addition, a candlelight service and Christmas carols will be performed.

Started in 1965, the church began the nativity scene at their old location in the former Travis Elementary School building. Due to renovations at their new location at 6801 Wesley Street, the nativity scene will be performed this year at the courthouse.

The event is free of charge.
