K-9 Coco and Commerce Police Officer Dave Contreras need help to win a new SUV patrol unit.
Vested Interest in K9s Inc., a 501c(3) non-profit organization, is holding a popularity contest where the winner gets a new SUV equipped for K-9 transport.
Contreras with the Commerce ISD Police K9 Unit, along with his partner Coco are in the final 30.
“K-9 Coco and I were selected as one of the 30 finalists across the United States in a popularity-vote contest to win a brand-new police Chevy Tahoe equipped for K9 transport,” Conteras said. “Our current vehicle is in need of constant repairs and the safety of K-9 Coco is very important.”
K-9 Coco is a two-year-old pit mix rescued from the Pflugerville Animal Shelter.
“She was given a second chance at life and she is now trained in narcotics detection,” Contreras said. “She serves as an ambassador to her breed, which is often stigmatized, and to shelter dogs. Shelter dogs are the best dogs.”

“Please vote every day,” Contreras said. “And please share with all your friends.”
