J.J. Watt proposes Texans buy Whataburger back from Chicago investment firm

Earlier today, our beloved Whataburger was sold to a Chicago investment firm.

In response, Houston Texans’ defensive end J.J. Watt took to social media to rally Texans to buy the franchise back.

“Ok, I say we all chip in and buy Whataburger back,” he said on Twitter.

He even went a step further, proposing a business plan on how he’d manage the franchise.

“Make honey butter chicken biscuits available all day, add kolaches to the menu and change nothing else. Especially not the ketchup,” he said.

  1. let’s do it! i am all in on JJ or whoever he thinks to run the show but Whataburger is Texas!!

  2. I’m ready, let’s do it. I was shocked and appalled when I read this story earlier today! WTH were they thinking?!

  3. JJ, you have a lot more money than most of us do. I’d be willing to chip in a few bucks ($20) if everybody else would. I hate to see our beloved Whataburger sold to some Yankee company who will no doubt probably use it as a tax write off and let it whither on the vine !

  4. I’m all in. I lost my only child a year and a half ago, and I would do it in his name; much like J.J. he could throw down with those honey-butter chicken biscuits. We must unite!! 🙋🏼‍♀️👏🏼🍔

  5. Where do I sign up to donate? Enough of us give a small amount we can raise the money!
