Congratulations to the new CASA volunteers who were sworn in Oct. 8 by the Honorable Andrew Bench, 196th District Court Judge.
These Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers completed 30 hours of training and are now ready to be a voice for Hunt County children who have been removed from their abusive home and placed into the foster care system.
New volunteers are Sylvia Cade of Greenville; Lisa Kelley of Lone Oak; Melissa Holt of Caddo Mills; Katy Batson of Caddo Mills; and Rosie Griggs of Greenville.
CASA for Hunt County is currently appointed to provide advocacy for more than 200 Hunt County children. Many, right now, still need a CASA volunteer.
The next volunteer training course begins in early November.
