The American Public Power Association (APPA) recently recognized GEUS in two ways as one of its most reliable electric systems across the nation.
APPA’s RP3 (Reliable Public Power Provider) designation is earned by a small percentage of the nation’s more than 2,000 public power cities for their reliability, safety, workforce development and system improvement. To earn this designation, APPA’s RP3 Review Panel of industry peers performed a thorough review of GEUS’ historical operational performance and business practices and awarded GEUS this designation on April 1, 2019.
APPA also awarded GEUS with its Excellence in Reliability Certification for 2018. GEUS was one of only two Texas utilities to earn this certificate of excellence for reliable performance as shown by comparing GEUS outage records against nationwide data. GEUS customers had power 99.998% during all of last year.
“Receiving these designations are a great honor. It demonstrates that a utility strives for a high level of service and is constantly looking to improve,” said APPA’s RP3 Review Panel Chairman, Aaron Haderle.
“GEUS is truly honored to accept these designations and is fortunate to have dedicated employees continually working to elevate the quality of services provided to the citizens we serve”, said GEUS General Manager Alicia Price. “Earning these elite designations is proof of GEUS’ efforts to become a world-class utility,” Price added.
