Philip Morris International, the makers of Marlboro and Parliament cigarettes has announced its desire for a smoke-free future.

“We’ve built the world’s most successful cigarette company, with the world’s most popular and iconic brands,” officials announced. “Now, we’ve made a dramatic decision.”

The company has decided to start focusing its efforts on smoke-free products that “are a much better choice than smoking cigarettes,” officials announced.

“Our vision – for all of us at PMI – is that these products will one day replace cigarettes,” the announcement read. “Why are we doing this? Because we should.”

The announcement went on to say PMI understands millions of men and women who smoke cigarettes are looking for less harmful, yet satisfying, alternatives to smoking.

“We will give them that choice,” they said. “Thanks to the imagination and perseverance of thousands of people at PMI, we have developed breakthrough products that are smoke-free and enjoyable. And, we are selling them today. Millions have already given up smoking and switched to our new products, and this is just the beginning.”
