On Nov. 29, 2018, the Festival of Trees promises to fill the area with the Christmas spirit at Greenville Floral and Gifts.
“We have six local nonprofits who have put up trees in the store,” said Angela Franklin of Greenville Floral and Gifts. “Each tree has a jar next to it and folks can come in and vote on their favorite tree by putting money in the jars. All the money collected will go to the nonprofit the tree belongs to.”
There will be both live and silent auctions throughout the evening. The six organizations include Women in Need, FISH, Hunt County Relay for Life, Boys & Girls Club, Hunt County Kids and the Greenville FFA.
Tickets for the evening’s event are $20 apiece and include drinks and hor d’oeuvres.
The Festival of Trees was started three years ago by owner of Greenville Floral and Gifts Luanne Dickens.
“This is something I’ve done in other places and I wanted to bring it to Greenville,” Dickens said. “It’s just my way of trying to help out different organizations in town during the holidays.”
Greenville Floral and Gifts is at 2418 Lee Street in Greenville. For more information, call 903-455-9423.
