Warrant service leads to evading charge

On July 1, at about 1:50 p.m., Hunt County sheriff deputy’s attempted to serve a warrant in the 1100 block of Walworth St.

Deputy’s observed three subjects in the backyard; and as they stopped, one subject fled into the neighborhood. The subject was identified as Terry Wayne Bishop Jr., 33-year-old male from Greenville, Texas, who was wanted out of the Greenville Police Department on a charge of aggravated robbery, according to the sheriff’s office.

As Deputy’s were searching the neighborhood, Precinct 1 Constable Terry Jones arrived on scene to assist and subsequently located Bishop hiding under some bushes. Bishop was taken into custody and transported to the Hunt County Detention Center and booked in on the outstanding felony warrant and an additional charge of Evading Arrest/Detention was filed.

Bishop was arraigned earlier today on the following charges: Aggravated Robbery, $50,000 cash or surety bond; and Evading Arrest/Detention with prior conviction, $20,000 cash or surety bond.

“I am thankful that Mr. Bishop was able to be taken into custody with no one getting hurt and I want to thank Constable Terry Jones for responding and assisting in locating Mr. Bishop so quickly,” said Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks.
