On April 21, 2019, Hunt County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a stolen tractor in the 4700 block of County Road 4802.
The owner described the tractor as a “Tafe DE5000,” orange and black, and stated he had left the tractor on his farm land the previous night. However, when he returned this date the tractor was gone and he observed tractor tracks leading off of his property. The patrol deputy initially took the theft report and gathered all pertinent information to enter the tractor stolen. At approximately 4 p.m. the same date an Investigator with the Sheriff’s Office observed a suspect using the stolen tractor not far from the location it was stolen.
The subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of Chad Allen Pryor, 31 year old male from Wolfe City, Texas. Mr. Pryor also had an outstanding felony warrant for burglary of a building.
Mr. Pryor was taken into custody and charged with unauthorized use of vehicle, theft of property over $2,500 and burglary of a building warrant. Total bonds have been set for $60,000.
“I want to commend the investigator for following up so quickly on this offense and locating the tractor and subsequently arresting the suspect in this offense,” said Sheriff Randy Meeks.
