A Royse City man has pleaded guilty to impersonating a U.S. Marshal. He was given 10 years probation.

Ricky Talmadge Carpenter, 43, was indicted last month after the jury met Oct. 19.

According to records, Carpenter was indicted for impersonating a U.S. Marshal while trying to arrest a man July 19 in the Royse City Walmart. Court records indicate he not only claimed to be a marshal, but also flashed a badge while threatening to arrest the man.
