Hunt County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,500 for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the murder of Heather Leann Pope.

On August 3, 2010, the body of Heather Leann Pope was located behind a vacant house in south Hunt County. The autopsy ruled her death as a homicide due to blunt force trauma. 

Heather’s family had been searching all of southern Hunt County when Heather’s father stopped at the Scotty’s store on FM 751 and FM 429 where he learned several people had been hanging out behind the store. Heather’s father and a family friend went behind the store and discovered her body in the backyard of a vacant house.

In the years following the case, several leads have come into the sheriff’s office, but none have produced enough evidence to make an arrest.
