BREAKING: Detention officer arrested for family violence


On Feb. 8, 2019, at approximately 12:40 a.m. the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a family violence offense in the 4700 block of SH 34 in Greenville, Texas.

Upon completion of the investigation, deputies arrested Jeremiah Fairfield a 32-year-old male from Greenville, Texas, on a charge of Assault Family
Violence/Impede Breath or Circulation. Mr. Fairfield was booked into the Hunt County Detention Center and upon arraignment was issued a $25,000.00 bond.

It was determined that Mr. Fairfield, at the time of his arrest, was employed by the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office as a Detention Officer. Mr. Fairfield was placed on “Indefinite Suspension” the same day of his arrest.

Sheriff Randy Meeks stated, “The accusations made against Mr. Fairfield are unacceptable. These alleged actions do not reflect the core value we strive to provide our citizens and should not reflect negatively on other employees.”
