The aunt of an 18-month-old boy who was found dead in a landfill recently has been arrested.
Chrystal Jackson was arrested this morning for child endangerment, with a $50,000 bond set.
On July 10, Jackson reported her nephew, who she had custody of, missing. According to her report, she put the boy, Cedric Jackson, to bed the night before and when she woke up he was gone.
An Amber Alert was issued for Cedric that night. The next day, Jackson’s boyfriend, Sedrick Johnson, confessed to placing the boy in a dumpster the night of July 10 after finding him unresponsive and allegedly performing CPR on him for half an hour.
Johnson was arrested in connection with the boy’s death.
Cedric was found dead the next day in a landfill in Rowlett.
